The CARE Foundation is a non-profit fundraising entity, separate from the school district. The Foundation has raised over $2,000,000 for students, teachers and schools over the last decade, providing much needed resources to enrich student learning experiences that fall outside the District’s budgetary reach.
The Capistrano Unified School District encompasses 63 schools with over 51,000 students. It covers over 154 square miles in seven cities. The needs of a district this size, combined with the current budget crisis, are enormous.
We here at the CARE Foundation are committed to supporting the education of the students this district serves. Our goal is to support district-wide programs of enrichment including technology and music. The Foundation sponsors transportation for 4th graders from throughout the district to attend a symphony as well as professional conductors for the annual Honors Concert in the spring. We have a Grant Incentives For Teachers (G.I.F.T.) program which provides much-needed grants to teachers. These grants have funded science equipment, upgraded computers, video equipment, reading material, computer software, and many more essentials for the classrooms. Your donations are vital to the support of these valuable programs.
